The program combines two regular courses: Thai Society & Culture and Buddhism in Thailand, focusing on the complex relationship between Buddhism and Thai history, politics, economics, education, literature, law, arts, and theater. Participants will be instructed by distinguished scholars and professors at Thammasat University, and will visit sites of particular historical importance, such as Ayuddhaya and Chiang Mai.
Admission to the Thai Studies Summer Program is open to currently enrolled college or university students, or individuals holding secondary education diploma. English language proficiency is required for applicants who are not from a school or university with English as the language of instruction.
